Savina Lane Wines

Whilst you’re in the Stanthorpe area, located in the Granite Belt of Queensland, be sure to visit Savina Lane Wines for a personal wine tasting.
Opened in April 2015, the cellar door tasting area behind this imposing wooden door, will not disappoint.   Enter this easily opened stunning entranceway, to arrive in the tasting area.  Massive glass windows frame the vineyard below, beautifully.  At the time if our visit, the vines were bare, which can only mean a revisit will be necessary once the vines are in full leaf.

After a browse thought the shop area, where there are different wares, including clothing and wine accessories for sale, we were invited to partake of a wine tasting.

As the bar stools were occupied with another party tasting wines, we were invited to seat in the comfortable lounge area.  Here, we were treated to a personalised wine tasting by one of the owners, Cheryl Hutchings.   Starting with the white range, we were given an informative run down on the vineyard, each wine and the history behind them all.

Cheryl’s knowledge was impressive to say the least.  Not only that, the entire tasting session and the information provided, was portrayed in a non-mechanical, personalised manner.   There was no automatic reciting of information, which Cheryl would have no doubt parted with on numerous occasions.

We took our time and savoured the different wines, whilst drinking in the information provided by Cheryl.   The group tasting at the bar, accepted the invitation to stroll through the the vines, whilst cradling their wine glass in hand.   Quite a relaxing way to enjoy your tasting.

Be sure not to bypass this winery.  Hidden from the road, the driveway leading into, is definitely worth following to discover to discover the delights at the end.  Cheers 🍷
